Tips to reduce/prevent acne

This is a problem of every woman who passes the tender age of 13-14 and becomes a teenager wherein the acne problems start rising and the acnes get too painful and at times start bleeding if proper care is not taken. Here I would like to list few tips to reduce and prevent acne (methods that I've personally tried):

i. Wash your face regularly: Our skin is very delicate and when we travel a lot or our skin comes in contact with dust and dirt, it's necessary to wash it regularly to take off the dirt from the pores and leave it dry. It's necessary to use only water while washing your face or you can use a good face wash but only use it twice a day and not regularly else it can affect your skin quality and make it look dull. Washing your face regularly will prevent more acne on your skin as it removes any oil or dirt from the pores that causes the rise of acne on your face. You should was your face almost every hour and never touch your face without washing your hands as hygiene is the first step to prevent acne.

ii. Drink lots of water: Water is the best cure that helps your stomach to remain clean and when you drink water, your metabolism remains good and any food stuffs that can cause the rise of acne on your skin can be avoided. Usually acne is caused due to the food items we eat and mainly during menstruation for women that create a bad stomach and lead to the rise on acne. Drinking 5 glasses of water a day can help your digestion and also reduce the acne on your skin. Also, avoid eating any oily or junk food if you suffer from acne problems a lot and try to eat more fruits while having lots of water.

iii. Use warm water: If you have acne on your face, the best method to help the acne from reducing is to dab a piece of cotton in Luke warm water and place it on the affected areas of your face. The water shouldn't be boiling hot but just Luke warm and then let the cotton remain on the spots till it drops on its own when dry. Repeating this every day will help in preventing the acne from breaking or bleeding and eventually the spots on the face vanish after the acne is cured. It helps in not leaving marks after the acne vanishes and this is the best technique rather than using pimple creams.

iv. Use clean tissues: Whenever you need to wipe or clean your face, use a new tissue (face tissues only) and move it softy on the face whether or not you have acne. Avoid touching your face with your bare hands and only use tissues to remove sweat from the face or anytime you need to wipe it and use a new tissue always and then dispose it off after use. Avoid using towels if you have acne.

v. Use of moisturizers: It's best to avoid moisturizers if you have acne as they can attract dirt and dust while travelling and increase the acne issues. If you don't have any acne, you can use a moisturizer and then after 2-3 hours, wash it off with a face wash and use it again if needed. It does not have to remain on your skin for a long time as it can cause acne problems.
